This small courtyard, initially a piece of space given away to the street, became an important outdoor living space and place for daily reflection and awareness. It’s a testament to the value that a tiny bit of landscape can offer to inspire and restore the mind and body.
The garden put a frame around a personal point of view with recycled metal, fine art plaques, and outdoor prints. The courtyard itself is a metaphor for the transition between our internal and external worlds as well as a tangible transition space to prepare oneself for the public realm at sidewalk and beyond.
